Update...Things are a Comin'!
Just a update...I am finally able to get back to work full time (more or less...) and well, the last of the Japanese blades I have been sitting on will be posted in the next 24 to 36 hours..These are GORGEOUS blades, done in several different blade types and methods of construction, all with really NICE Hamons showing... So I will update here when they are posted, these and a couple of other odds and ends...
So take a look and see what I have... More items will be posted as they are finished.

The Axes of E-vile and the Spears of Influence.
Finally an update. The little run in I had with a very sharp and nasty sword two weeks before Christmas has now healed and all the sutures are removed and while I still do not have all that much feeling in my right thumb..I am still able to use it..SO...
The Axes of E-vile are up and ready to go. I have a wide variety of styles available, with another batch of throwing axes done in a much more "traditional" style underway. These should be done early next month.
Also I posted a dozen spear points that are awaiting new homes as well, so please take a look and see.
Now what's in the works? Alot of folks have been asking.OK..I have to fess up..I have been siting on some finished Japanese style sword..the last 4 or 5. All are Gen III except for one which is a canceled order, which is a Gen II. Now I was HOPING that the movie "47 Ronin" would be a hit and that would result in an increased popularity in the Japanese style blades.. I was alas..wrong. The movie is a flop. So much for my plans. So once I get these wrapped..they will be posted. Now that I can use my hand without bleeding on everything these will be done shortly.
Also in the pipeline are high carbon swords, sgain dubh/boot knives and daggers as well as some welded cable, some pattern welded stuff and a couple of "Zombie Banes" as well. So it'll be a nice mix of styles... As things get finished they will be posted and notice will be given here.
In closing I want to send out our Best Wishes for a Happy 2014 to everyone..
thank you for dropping by and as always, if there are any questions, by all means feel free to ask.
Winter Update and an Ooops!!
Well, as the words say "That which does not kill me..PISSES me off!" rings all too true. When flesh meets steel..steel wins. I went and ran my thumb up a sword blade and well..a couple of hours and a few sutures later I am sewn back together. So things are slow right now production wise due to the injury and I still have another week or so until the sutures are out. Needless to say i am NOT happy about this. Now here is where it gets interesting:
Last night my computer crashed. Oh fun..oh joy...a Windows failure..so if any of you know of a decent data recovery place to get my documents and photos off of it..please let me know. Which leads to this:
Due to the fact that I will have limited time on a borrowed computer my e-mail response may be a bit tardy until I get the new machine in. So please, bear with me on this. I should have the new machine in a little more than a week/10 days. So...That's what's new
In closing..To all of you, we here at Salamander Armoury wish to all of you a Merry Christmas, Happy New Year and a Festive Yule.
Best to you!!
Update and a THANK YOU
First of all I would like to say thank you..and I mean THANK YOU to all of you who rallied in support of us here at Salamander Armoury. I am simply cleaned out of everything. This really helped us out..It allowed me to replace 90% of the stolen raw materials and well..I am starting fresh..In other words I have nothing on the website at present and while that is a frightening thing, it also means that I will be putting up all new items. THANK YOU all again..
Now...what does Jim have in the works?? Hummmmmmm..I am in the middle of run of throwing axes and spears, which I should be setting to brown in the next day or two. The browning technique I use is an "olde time" slow technique that takes from 7 days to two weeks..depending ..yeah it takes a while but the results are a beautiful russet brown with great depth to the finish plus it is very durable...So look for those in about 2 weeks.. Plus I am in the middle of a sword and dagger run as well as working on laminated materials so things will be popping up on a regular basis. I just got some replacement RR spikes in so those should be showing up shortly.
Onto other news: I just got denied for yet another research grant. I am pretty much fed up with this whole process. So I have decided to go private and put up a funding page at:
this project will involve making a sword blade from ore..yeah..a blade from dirt. The amount desired is no where near what would cover all the time involved but what the Hell.. It's research for book IV as well so I am giving it a go... So go take a look and see...It'll be interesting once I get started..
Well that's all that is new here...I must say THANK YOU once again to all who helped me through the burglary..IT IS GREATLY APPRECIATED...
